Junior Accountant

The Opportunity

This role demands precision and intellectual rigour to solve our clients problems. You start by supporting the more senior members of the team across a variety of transactions and assignments. The work will be diverse, with everything from ongoing client accounting and tax compliance work, through to more complex transactions. You will be personally responsible for a number of clients, with an expectation that you will directly interact with them and support them.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly reporting back, BAS and payroll for your clients;
• Income tax calculations, tax compliance and reporting
• Working with listed companies to prepare their financial reports, liaising with auditors (we don’t do audits) to meet tight and demanding deadlines;
• Preparing client budgets and forecasts, tax planning and client advisory work; and
• Undertaking longer term projects, including financial reporting remediation projects

The role is designed for a recent graduate up to someone with two years experiecne, who wants the experiences of a BIg 4 firm but in a smaller, more nurturing environment.

Beyond all else, you will be a true team player, with the intellectual curiosity and drive to learn and be consultative in style with clients. Furthermore, you will ideally possess the following skills, education and experience:

• You will be degree qualified, preferably in accounting with at least 1 to 3 years experience;
• You may be studying towards your Chartered Accounting (we fully support either Chartered Accountant or Tax Institute education programs), or looking to start soon;
• You will have a strong attention to detail
• Tech savvy is a given. We work completely in the cloud in a sustainable, paperless environment. No papers file or ancient technology at our firm; and
• Practical work experience in a professional services environment.

Salary Range - $70,000 to $85,000 inclusive of superannuation.
