Job Description - Junior Accountant
Andrew Skinner & Associates, is a CPA Practice Business, that has been trading for over 30 years, and provides accounting and tax solutions to small businesses owners across many different industries with a focus on pro-active planning and management. Our practice has staff who are native speakers in both English and Chinese. We are looking for a highly self-motivated and enthusiastic Junior Accountant. In joining this firm, you will form part of a collaborative team of like-minded individuals and be supported by a passionate management team. You will gain exposure to hands-on compliance work across a broad client base and receive opportunities to develop professionally and technically.
You will have key responsibilities which will include:
- Bookkeeping
- Preparing BAS, IAS, FBT and tax returns for individual, partnership, company, trust and SMSF
- Preparing financial reports for various entities
- Assisting with tax planning and projects
- Liaising with the ATO, ASIC and other regulatory bodies
- Liaising with clients via phone and email regarding compliance matters and client queries
- Other ad hoc duties as required

The Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
- Relevant accounting degree/post graduate qualifications
- Currently underway to be a CA / CPA
- At least 1 year experience in a public accounting firm
- Strong English communication skills - verbal and written
- Basic knowledge of Australian taxation law
- Strong time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
- Accuracy of data entry and attention to details
- Demonstrated self-driven learning
- Proficient with MS Excel & MS Word
- Strong use of major accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, etc.

Salary: A market salary will be paid dependant on demonstrated skills and experience

Education: Bachelor/Master Degree
Experience:
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (Minimum)
- Prior experience within a full function bookkeeping process would be advantageous
- Experience within an Australian public practice firm preferred
- Experience in BAS, income tax returns preferred
Work Authorisation:
- Australia (Preferred) or working rights
