Our client is a locally operated and family-owned electrical and mechanical contracting company, with over 50 years of servicing commercial electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning within the Cairns region.
The Opportunity
As the Junior Administrator, you will enjoy variety in this role, assisting in both administration and finance duties. Some of your responsibilties will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing purchase orders and invoicing;
- Accounts receivable/payable;
- Administration duties, including answering phone calls, data entry etc;
- Assist in running payroll;
- Review and verify invoices and payment requests;
- Managing the switchboard and front office, and directing all enquiries etc;
- Manage incoming service requests and maintaining the applicable computer systems;
- Processing purchase orders and invoicing and provide general assistance for Accounts receivable and payable;
- General administration duties such as stationary ordering and typing support for field tradesmen.
- Ability to think on your feet and juggle competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Attention to detail and accuracy;
- Understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable;
- Level-headed and mature outlook to deal with fast paced, rapidly changing and at times stressful environment;
- Previous construction or manufacturing industry experience would be advantageous but not required;
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Office;
- Customer-focused phone etiquette;
- Willingness to learn and be a team player;
- A can-do attitude;
- Technically minded and sound mathematics skills.
