In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and other key stakeholders, you will establish, implement, and evaluate strategic goals and objectives of our Junior Ranger program by:
• Assisting in the development and delivery of a culturally responsible, integrated and comprehensive program that incorporates First Nations resource management and culture with the regular school curriculum and broader First Nations community goals.
• Establishing and fostering partnerships between local high schools, VET training providers, ranger groups, Traditional Owners and local Elders; and
• Ensuring the program meets the educational attainment goals to increase attendance, retention, grade progression and Year 12 completion rates for first Nations students.
Preferred Skills
• Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Land Use and Management, Conservations Land Management, Ecology, Youth Work and/or Education and related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the development and implementation of school-based programs or the capacity to do so.
Required Skills
• Demonstrated integrity, commitment to ethical practice, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to successfully work and engage with Aboriginal people and communities.
• Current NSW driver’s license.
• Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
• National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain.
