Junior System Administrator

ASCENDUNT GROUP on behalf of client, one of the largest legal firms in Australia with a truly National and international presence, currently requires multiple System Administrator’s to join their growing team. Position: Junior System Administrator

Location: Melbourne/ Sydney/ Brisbane/ Perth 

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain our company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor system performance, security, and availability, and implement proactive measures to prevent issues.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and backups to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to implement innovative technologies and solutions that align with business objectives.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Junior System Administrator or similar role in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience with network protocols, routing, and security (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
