Freshwater Creek Steiner School is a vibrant, artistic, and inclusive Primary School and sessional kindergarten, situated on 24 acres of farmland near the beautiful Victorian Surf Coast. FWCSS currently has 200 children enrolled in kindergarten to Class 6.
We are seeking a Kindergarten co-educator to join our thriving Early Childhood program, from Term 2, 2024.
FWCSS Early Childhood comprises playgroups and two kindergarten rooms, which all follow Steiner Early Childhood Education principles. Kindergarten programs are based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
Our kinder rooms currently run four days per week, with mixed age programs for 3-year-old and 4-year-old children. The Co-Educator is vital for maintaining the loving atmosphere and the rhythm and routine of the day, through close collaboration with the kindergarten teacher.
- This is a permanent 4 day per week, Level 2 ESS role.
- Hours are 8.30am -3.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a half hour unpaid break.
- Remuneration and conditions are based the FWCSS Agreement 2022.
Essential criteria
- Certificate III or Diploma of Childrens services, or equivalent as approved by ACECQA.
- Current Working with Children Clearance.
- Training, experience, or knowledge of the principles of Steiner Early Childhood Education, and willingness to continue this learning.
- Understanding and knowledge of the VEYLDF and the National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Safe Food Handling certificate.
- First Aid level 2.

- Commitment to Child Protection and the right of all people to work and learn in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key relationships:
- Kindergarten co- educators work closely with their Early Childhood colleagues, learning support and welfare staff. The position is accountable to the Head of School.
