About the role and the team
We have a new opportunity for a Lawyer to join our growing General Insurance practice based in our Perth office.
Our Perth General Insurance team sits within our national General Insurance section, with around 200 team members nationally. We provide general insurance advice to insurers, reinsurers and corporates in both the Australian and London insurance markets, and we sit on the legal panels of three of Australia’s top four general insurers. We also assist the Firm’s Commercial Disputes Resolution (CDR) team.
The primary focus for this role will be advising on defendant Personal Injury and General Liability matters, including historical abuse claims. These are highly complex, technically challenging and sensitive claims. Our team regularly appears in the District Court and Supreme Court of WA.
This is a fantastic hands-on role with significant development and progression opportunities as well as the opportunity to work with interesting clients, including some of Australia's top insurers.

We would like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

- ideally you will have experience defending historical abuse claims and/or an interest in this area of law;
- experience in the day-to-day management of files, and in running matters through court proceedings;
- are proactive and able to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
- the ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
