The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. As our Library Coordinator you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our library branches in Capel, Dalyellup and Boyanup, ensuring adequate staffing and resourcing. You will support, coach and develop our Senior Library team in the successful delivery of their portfolios, including collections, library programs, technology and archives and foster a collaborative, inclusive, values-drive team culture. You will also build partnerships and work to maximise community awareness of, and engagement with, the library service. You will support the effective management and continuous improvement of our library service through the development, monitoring and reporting of library usage and trends, budget and business plans.
With plans for future relocation and expansion of the Dalyellup Library into the planned Dalyellup Multipurpose Community and Youth Centre you be responsible for preparing and transitioning our team into this fantastic new facility!

- Base salary circa $83,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%

- Graduate Diploma or Degree library qualification as recognised by ALIA, or willingness to achieve
- Proven staff development and supervision experience
- A thorough understanding of the role and function of public libraries in the community and how they contribute to life-long learning.
Significant experience in frontline customer service and public libraries, and skills in technology applications, social media, library systems, eResources and information retrieval will be highly regarded.
