About the Position
We are seeking an Experienced Leading Hand to join our team in Murwillumbah NSW. Located on the picturesque far North Coast of NSW, bordering the Gold Coast. The Tweed valley is a vibrant, diverse location offering a lifestyle near the water.
The purpose of this position is to assist with the successful operation of the dry mill, including quality control measures. As a Leading Hand you are required to supervise others in the timber plant and offer support when required.
Managing competing priorities under tight deadlines is critical in this role. As well as improving efficiency and meeting production goals while building a high performing team with a harmonious culture.
This position is a day-shift role working Monday-Thursday 5.00am – 3.15pm
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain a safe & healthy work environment.
- Lead the team giving guidance and be a proactive leader with a “can do” attitude.
- Complete planned, unplanned and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance to Pentarch’s Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
- Ensure that all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk.
- Inspect equipment and raise job requests on any defective parts/components found.
- Step up to supervise during planned shutdowns
- Safety focused individual who has a strong work ethic and a 'can do' attitude
- Passionate about quality of work and has a high attention to detail
- 2+ years experience as a Leading Hand
- Have a positive attitude, be both reliable and punctual
- Physically fit to manually handle various size timber sections
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
