We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to join our Civil Construction and Maintenance team as a Leading Hand.
Under the direction of the Works Officer, the Leading Hand will deliver the safe, effective and efficient provision of roads and stormwater Construction and Maintenance services.
Some of the key duties include:
- Supervising work crews, as required, involved with Civil Construction and Maintenance, including:
- Assisting in planning and coordinating allocated crew work schedules.
- Assisting in interpreting and understanding plans and effectively conveying design information to work crews.
- Assisting in identifying and resolving work priority issues.
- Providing regular communication on work site and projects issues and achievements, and any risk mitigation strategies applied.
- Providing physical assistance and technical advice to work crews.
- Cost-effective scheduling of hired or contracted plant and associated equipment, overseeing and operating plant and equipment and ensuring plant and equipment on site is appropriate for the task.
- At the direction of the Works Officer, supervise the worksite operations, including safety, plant and crews when the Works Officer is not on site, including supervising minor contract work crews.
- As directed by the Technical Officer, undertake the Works Officer role in an acting capacity, as required.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
The salary range for the position is between $67,490.10 and $71,088.82 plus 12.5% superannuation and a 9-day fortnight. A guaranteed 2.5% salary increase applies to this salary (or CPI) in July 2024.
