Job description

Please note that this job listing is from the Indigenous Jobs website - which is solely aimed at supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers and communities.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join BOQ Group (which includes Bank of Queensland, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank) as a Legal Administration Assistant has arrived! By joining the bank with a human touch, you will be able to make a difference with curiosity and optimism by assisting and supporting the legal team, adding significant value to our organisation.
Along our journey to become the digital bank of the future, we are strengthening, simplifying, and digitising, whilst ensuring our foundations are in place. With foundation comes strength, and we are building strong and stable teams to work across our multi-branded business. This includes elevating our Group Legal culture, providing you a large opportunity to contribute to the overarching frameworks and be paramount in supporting our transformation into a digital bank.
We are looking for a Legal Administration Assistant to join us on a permanent basis, where you will be able to make a difference with curiosity and optimism by providing business administrative support to our team of key specialist lawyers who are based across our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne offices. This will include general administrative support for all team members, such as booking meeting rooms, flights and accommodation, and reconciliation of team member expenses. You will also monitor and action emails received through a general Legal Administration & accounts email inbox and maintain a current register of contracts across the BOQ Group.
Sitting within the Group Legal team, you will play a key role in maintaining a current register of BOQ Group Power of Attorneys (POA’s) as well as providing general administrative and reporting support to both the entire pool of lawyers as well as the Group Legal leadership team.  This role will also incorporate the process of invoicing to law firms, where you will be accountable for ensuring invoices are paid promptly and reimbursements, where appropriate, are sought and paid.
This is a challenging and exciting role with a wide range of opportunities to help you take your career to the next level. We are committed to helping you learn and grow to become a top-tier professional in administrative support, and we will consistently seek to support your career growth plans across the legal or administrative landscape.
About you
You will be a collaborative people and outcome focussed professional who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment. You will have a willingness and commitment to adapt and learn, having solid communication skills on a verbal and written level to articulate information efficiently and partner with team members.
Having experience in an administration role or similar, preferably across the legal landscape, you will ideally have budgeting and invoicing experience. You will also have strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Suite, such as Sharepoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Working for us is energetic and fast-paced, and we need top talent to take us where we want to go. BOQ Group people are easy to spot. They're smart, enthusiastic, full of ideas and passionate about what they do. If this sounds like you and you're looking to join a brand on the forefront of financial services, we'd love to have a conversation!
