Form of workDrinkwater Criminal and Family Lawyers is a legal firm based in Forster in the State of New South Wales servicing criminal and family law clients predominantly in the Forster and Taree areas. There are presently two solicitors primarily focused on Criminal Law, a part time Legal Secretary and Legal Secretary transitioning to the role of Office Manager on a part time basis employed at the firm.
The practice is very busy and with staff members transitioning to different roles within the firm, we are seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team.
The successful applicant would have:
- Previous experience in secretarial and reception work
- Strong computer literacy
- Be mature and well spoken in a polite and efficient manner
- Be aware of the requirements of confidentiality within a Legal Practice
- Be well organised and be willing to undertake additional duties within the firm
Duties of the position include but are not restricted to:
- Taking calls and communicating with clients
- Providing secretarial support to solicitors of the firm
- Effectively managing a busy workload
- Dictation typing
- Email correspondence
- Diary and Calendar Management
- File Management
- Photocopier and scanning duties
- Lodging Legal Aid Applications
- Basic invoicing and receipting
Previous experience in a legal office (particularly specialising in criminal law) with Outlook, Microsoft Office and LEAP Legal Software would be well regarded.
Salary for the position is in accordance with the current Legal Services Award.
The successful applicant would need to be available work 3 days per week preferably Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.
