The Role
Our Newcastle Workers Compensation team are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team on a full-time basis. Our team covers the full spectrum of workplace injuries including major and minor orthopaedic, neurological and strain injuries, brain damage, catastrophic multi-injuries, exposure to hazardous substances, psychological injury and stress claims. In this role you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced professionals and further develop your legal secretarial skills working within an energetic and passionate team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Preparing files, drafting legal documents, court documents and correspondence
- Filing court documents online in various jurisdictions
- Diary management including arranging meetings, coordinating travel, maintaining multiple calendars, monitoring court and client timeframes and providing reminders as necessary
- Monitoring due dates for reports from experts and following-up outstanding reports and documents
- Liaising with clients and other parties including barristers, doctors, witnesses and process servers
- Opening matter files, electronic filing and archiving
