Castledex is a full-service provider of FF&E (furniture, fit-out and equipment). We are a market leader and work on some of the biggest projects in Western Australia. We operate a 3,000 sqm warehouse with a logistics team that forms the beating heart of our 85-person organisation.

As our Logistics Officer you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the supply chain operations of the company. The responsibilities are broad and multifaceted, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Planning and Coordination:
- Route Planning: Developing the most efficient transportation routes to minimise costs and delivery times.
- Scheduling: Coordinating the schedule for deliveries and pickups to ensure timely arrival of goods.
- Transportation Management:
- Carrier Selection: Choosing appropriate carriers and negotiating contracts and rates.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure they are on schedule and addressing any issues that arise during transit
- Communication and Coordination:
- Liaison with Suppliers and Customers: Acting as the primary point of contact between suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
- Internal Coordination: Working closely with other departments, such as procurement, production, and sales, to ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Documentation: Preparing and managing all necessary shipping and customs documents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Problem Solving:
- Issue Resolution: Addressing and resolving any logistical issues or delays that arise.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing mitigation strategies.
- Cost Management:
- Budget Management: Monitoring and managing logistics costs to stay within budget.
- Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to reduce logistics costs through improved efficiency and negotiation.
- Performance Analysis:
- KPI Tracking: Monitoring key performance indicators to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Reporting: Preparing reports on logistics performance and suggesting improvements based on data analysis.
- Customer Service:
- Customer Support: Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by providing timely and accurate information about shipments and handling customer inquiries and complaints.
By fulfilling these roles, the Logistics Officer helps ensure that products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time, thereby supporting the overall operational success of the company.
Qualifications & experience required:
- Proven leadership in HSE
- Strong team development skills
- Forklift licence.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in logistics
- Knowledge and management of policies and procedures
- Knowledge of logistics systems
- ISO knowledge desirable
- Odoo or equivalent ERP system knowledge desirable
