Logistics Officer

About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for an experienced, Logistics Officer to undertake & complete daily requirements at our Main Warehouse Weipa operation.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has prior experience in a warehouse operation, can successfully multi-task, has good SAP knowledge and operates in a manner where safety is in the forefront.

Reporting to Parts Consolidation and Inventory Supervisor, you will:
  • Liaise daily with our Cairns OSR team re our incoming weekly barge freight.
  • Monitor freight costs/ process weekly invoices received from our contracted freight suppliers.
  • Manage material workflows - PO mismatches to ensure agreed payment terms are met with vendors.
  • Support offshore buy team – chasing PR raisers to correct info.
  • Apply credits when PO changes required.
  • Assist site with Urgent freight requirements.
  • Complete Hazardous substance audits.
  • Process Hasting Deering Core credits/Despatch weekly.
What you’ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse site operation.
  • Prior Logistics experience
  • Attention to detail, ability to work in a face paced environment.
  • Manual Car License
  • Good time management and has the desire to work in a team environment.
  • Confident phone manner /email comms
  • Knowledge of SAP, in particular the Warehousing module.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Exposure to site operations or relevant materials management qualifications.
  • Knowledge of SAP, in particular the Warehousing module.
  • Excel/ PowerPoint knowledge
  • A sound knowledge of parts supply and warehousing

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.
Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to , ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
