The opportunity
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the management of ad-hoc sourcing and transactional ordering for all of Silver Chain Group for non-standard products, the management of product catalogues, user logins and ordering systems. The role is a front-line internal customer facing role and is highly engaged with many areas of the business and suppliers.
Key responsibilities
The major accountabilities of this position are below, see Position Description for more details:
- Daily sourcing of products and placement of purchase orders through Microsoft Dynamics 365 ordering systems
- Maintaining purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Source and evaluate product, service and pricing offers from suppliers
- Research and establish relationships between Silver Chain and potential external suppliers
- Monitor vendor invoices, validate application of contract pricing, and resolve any pricing variances identified
- Generate reports related to purchasing
- Provide advice to all stakeholders that will reduce ad hoc procurement requests
- Maintain lists of user logins for various systems such as Winc, Ch2 and Startrack
- Supporting national consistent and scalable solutions allowing for unique local elements.
About you

- Tech Savvy, Self-motivated and willing to learn!
Desirable (But not essential)
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience with ERP and/or PTP systems, in particular Microsoft Dynamics 365
Essential
- Highly efficient time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction
- Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in relation to various procurement and purchasing issues
- Written communication skills to draft correspondence of various procurement and purchasing issues
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to research and analyse information and recommend solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer applications and related software. Such as Microsoft 365 suite including Excel, Word and reporting tools
- Knowledge of issues and trends affecting procurement and purchasing process
- Possess a "can do" attitude and willingness to learn
Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
