CEQ operates 30 outlets throughout North Queensland and are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Logistics Specialist to join our team here in Cairns for a 3 Months Fixed Term Contract.
About the role
The Logistics Specialist will be supporting and guiding innovative solutions, applying proactive and methodical problem-solving abilities and exercising professional judgement, whilst providing support to the business and stakeholders to create efficiencies and improvements.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Develop processes and procedures for freight movements in remote communities.
- Develop business cases for growth in remote communities.
- Provide expert advice on developing efficiencies and improvements in the supply chain in conjunction with freight providers.
- Assist in drafting operational logistics and supply chain improvement proposals.
- Assist with development, maintenance and management of project planning tools and cost analysis.
- Identify supply chain alternatives, engaging in supply management planning and support performance reviews.
- Actively develop customer relationships to improve the customer's perception of the business as a superior service provider.
- Develop process in line with QPP and QPS requirements to support future procurement as it relates to freight.
- Actively seek and facilitate the application for funding support that would provide freight alternatives and a reduction on the cost of living to residents.

Essential Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of logistics operations in the FNQ, Cape York and Torres Strait regions.
- A willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiar with the operations of computerised inventory systems.
- Work constructively in a team environment.
