We are looking for a permanent full time Maintenance Officer experienced in delivering timely and high quality maintenance support!
Permanent full time position
76 hours per fortnight
Monday to Friday
$80,008 p/annum ($40.49p/hr)
+ 11% Superannuation + Not for profit packaging

About the role ...
We are looking for a full time permanent Maintenance Officer experienced with providing timely, high quality maintenance support and advice.
The position will oversee day to day maintenance of both the internal and external aspects of the residential aged care facilities, retirement villages and relevant equipment (as required).
The role is also accountable for the maintenance requirements of facility gardens and where nominated the maintenance and refurbishment of independent living units. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Minor maintenance work including mechanical and plumbing
- Complete work tasks according to designated work maintenance schedules
- Regular checking of equipment and facilitate the servicing and or replacement of safety and other equipment as determined
- Assist in maintaining required records and completing audits as per work maintenance schedule
- Maintain grounds at designated locations
- Assist in coordinating independent living unit refurbishments.
- Order stock replacement when requested by maintenance Supervisor
- Respond to urgent calls from facility where practical to do so
- Manual handling tasks involved
- Operating plant equipment in accordance with Work Health and Safety Requirements
- Dealing with Fire Safety equipment and Call Alarms
About you ...
You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner.
Qualifications
- A certificate level (or higher) or Trade relevant to building and grounds maintenance preferred but not essential
Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance activities and relevant equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of ground maintenance
- Working understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
- Ability to carry out minor building maintenance and repair work
- Ability to maintain facility grounds
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- The ability to work in a culturally specific environment.
- Previous experience in this capacity in a residential service desirable
- Experience in working within Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines advantageous
A police check with no disclosable outcome, current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.
A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
