The Role:
The role contributes to the preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production. You will help resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, you will use your experience and abilities to eliminate issues with production equipment and help implement solutions that enhance production efficiency.
Your ability to collaborate and problem-solve will be essential in ensuring ongoing factory performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance tasks
- Equipment repairs and breakdown work as needed.
- Work with the engineering department on projects, including creating fixtures, tools and production equipment for new designs or process changes/improvements.
- Support production with tooling changes and modifications to accommodate different products.
- Participate in meetings to review and plan upcoming requirements to ensure factory performance.
- Record job information and help ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Requirements:
- Engineering trade qualification / Mechanical Fitter
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, welding, automation, and part sourcing.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and standard work procedures.
- Operate typical workshop machinery to repair/create parts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Forklift licence (or the ability to obtain)
