Disability Support Workers provide assistance to a person with a disability with everyday tasks that a person without a disability would be doing for themselves and may include, and not be limited to, the following activities:
PERSONAL CARE- Manual Handling; Showering; Toileting; Grooming; Excercise, communication, personal development
MEAL ASSISTANCE - Meal preparation or assist clients in making their own meals.
COMMUNITY ACCESS - Recreational and social activities includes shopping and accompanying clients to doctor's appointmen
HOUSEKEEPING - doing domestic responsibilities such as housekeeping and sanitation.
ADMIN MEDICATION - assisting clients on their medication.
Disability Support Workers will record case notes that detail progress against PCP goals following each shift.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must at least 3 years of experience handling complex clients including those with mental health issues and intellectual disabilities.
- With Full Victorian Driver's License.
- Willing to do a long drive for a client. As most of his activities are more into community access where you need to drive a client in a long distance
- Patient, people-centered, good communicator and hardworking.
- Candidates must have the following Mandatory Requirements such as:
NDIS Screen check, Work with Children Check, Updated CPR&First Aid, Certificate III/IV in Individual Support and Disability or equivalent.
