About the Role
This role is responsible to provide high level accounting and financial support to the Manager Financial Services and provide guidance and mentorship to Finance Officers within the team.
This position provides financial management guidance, advice and analysis to internal customers throughout the organisation and assists in the production of statutory and management reporting and the compilation of budgets.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need to have an advanced understanding of accounting practises and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have proven management accounting experience including costing, budgeting and financial reporting and will be required to:
- Prepare monthly financial and management accounting requirements
- Work with managers and supervisors to ensure all costs are tracked, captured & managed efficiently
- Prepare, review and monitor team and Directorate budgets
- Assist with all internal and external audit requirements
- Manage of the financial reporting functions
- Prepare regular financial & KPI reporting to management and stakeholders
- Work with management to develop financial risk mitigation strategies
- Drive for continuous improvement and development of system integration, reporting and process improvement
- Hold a current National Police Clearance valid within the last 6 months
