About the role:
The main purpose of this role is to support the commercial business activities to a core level of management. As a Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in creating value through advising, challenging thinking and processes, business partnering and over time supporting managers towards the best commercial outcomes for the business. You will become intimately familiar with all aspects of our operations, including farming, logistics, production, and marketing, in order to effectively contribute to our success.

Key accountabilities:
Reporting to, and working closely with the Controller – Forecast, Planning and Analysis, you will be a valued contributor to the team and the broader business. While making impactful financial recommendations to support and influence the decision making, you will:
- Analyse relevant information critically, question assumptions, and help design solutions.
- Provide options based on facts and supporting the delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Ensure accounting information is accurate and up to date by maintaining financial systems.
- Review internal control procedures and processes to highlight non-compliance.
- Conduct relevant checks and reconciliations.
- Deliver financial information in a timely manner to meet management, statutory, and other internal and external requirements.
About you:
You will thrive in challenging conventional practices and collaborating with stakeholders to instigate and execute change, all while maintaining a holistic perspective.
- CPA certification or current enrolment in CPA studies, or equivalent accounting qualifications (Mackay Sugar may provide financial assistance for CPA qualification for suitable candidates).
- Supportive of initiatives for organizational change.
- Proficiency in Excel is crucial, and familiarity with an ERP system, particularly SAP, is advantageous.
- Prior experience in enhancing financial processes is preferable.
- Possessing commercial acumen, you will contribute significantly to the finance team.
- A valued team player with strong collaborative skills.
