Management Accountant - Assist in the development, preparation and analysis of financial reports Your new company
A well-established Government Owned Corporation located in Townsville is in search of a Management Accountant to assist in the development, preparation and analysis of management and financial reports.
Your new role As a direct report to the Manager of Financial Services, this position will assist managers and other employees through the budgeting and forecasting process and reviewing financial enquiries. Your responsibilities will include:
Establish and maintain relationships with business leaders to understand their financial needs and challenges.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, delivering 5-year budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Develop and monitor monthly operational expenditure projections and budget performance, recommending adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with business unit managers to develop cost control strategies and monitor their implementation.
Provide financial analysis for projects and initiatives, evaluating their financial viability and potential impacts.
Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
Provide financial guidance and compliance advice to all levels of employees across the organisation.
Administer the Financial Management System, assisting employees with FMS-related issues and training needs.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in accounting, commerce, or a similar field, and a CA or CPA certification is a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience in budget preparation, management reporting, and variance analysis, ideally within the heavy industry sector. They should have a solid understanding of accounting and audit requirements, and the ability to investigate, analyse, and interpret complex financial data. The candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong organisational and communication skills and have the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
