About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a CA or CPA qualification with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked in the construction industry, specifically in managing company group accounts with multiple subsidiary companies' books to manage. The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and strategic support to aid in decision-making processes within the organisation.
Duties will include (but not be limited to)
- Preparing weekly and monthly Profit and Loss statements for customer contracts, conducting necessary analysis, and providing reports on cost centres along with recommended actions when necessary
- Preparation of End of Month closure within the set dateline for multiple entities.
- Intercompany transactions – Invoicing & Billing and monthly accounts settlement for any open item.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.
- Compile weekly and monthly Profit and Loss statements for the Head Office in accordance with ROR group accounting policies, applying required analysis and proposed actions.
- Create and handle general ledger journals, ensuring that all necessary supporting documentation is consistently provided.
- Produce timely and precise Balance Sheet reconciliations, implementing and adhering to robust controls to uphold the financial integrity of the Balance Sheet
- Support the Finance Manager in meeting annual reporting and tax reporting obligations, ensuring thoroughness and precision in disclosures and timely submission.
- Support the Finance Manager in conducting regular audits on individual project expenses and income, asset stocktakes for Fleet, Non-Fleet, and IT assets, whilst ensuring accuracy consistently.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance Manager to promote ongoing enhancement within Finance systems and processes and provide assistance on essential projects as required.
- Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads and senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning and scenario analysis.
- Mentor and train junior members of the finance team, fostering their professional development.
- Internal finance operations including payroll, sales, creditors and banking.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in management accounting.
- CA/CPA qualification mandatory.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proven experience working in the construction industry is highly preferred.
- Be proactive and willing to take initiative.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills as you will be dealing with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with Xero and other ERP system preferable.
- Have the ability to interact and present ideas and updates to senior management and operational team leaders.
