The role
We are seeking an experienced Management/ Systems Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a business partnership role supporting the commercial and philanthropy business units within the institute. The role will be responsible for identifying integrated system improvements across the organisation while collaborating with researchers and corporate services teams. It is necessary to ensure an up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements and to deliver efficient implementation through system and process improvements.

You have a business partnership mindset, a curiosity for understanding interdependencies within the business and are motivated to use your strong financial background to support the organisation as the business evolves. You will have a flair for translating financial data into insightful information and ability to identify effective solutions. You are agile and adaptable, ready to embrace change and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Monthly Reporting and Budget preparation alongside Financial Accountant
- Collaborating with Business Unit partners in the quarterly forecasting process
- Analysing data sets and translating them into meaningful insights, generating action items, and providing recommendations for operational improvements
- Providing ongoing analysis and input into Clinical Trials CRM, budget development, Clinical Trial reporting and invoicing, and system updates.
- Maintaining and updating product costing models and CRM data
- Supporting year-end audit processes
- Assisting the organisation with system implementation and integration to Finance systems and payroll processes
- Assisting with data flow process mapping
- Assisting with ad hoc Finance and Corporate Services administration tasks as required
Qualifications and minimum requirements
Essential
- CPA Qualified
- A minimum of three to five years relevant work experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in a Management Accountant/Commercial Accounting role
- Experience with systems implementation and process mapping
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of MS Office 365 products
- A valid Working with Children Blue Card or ability to acquire
Desirable
- Experience with Xero/MYOB or similar SME Accounting software
- Power BI/Calxa/Fathom experience
- Previous experience working in a Not-For-Profit environment
- Experience with CRMs and database management
