- Challenge yourself to steward Data Strategy and governance for Qantas Loyalty, to improve commercial outcomes and uplift member experience
- Opportunity to work with a broad stakeholder group in a data-focused, dynamic and evolving business
- Permanent, full-time position based at our Mascot HQ
The Manager, Customer Data Strategy & Governance position will contribute to our effort to protect and grow the value of the Qantas Loyalty Customer Data product by leading initiatives, processes and delivering outcomes in partnership with both our commercial, member experience and data & analytics teams. The data industry landscape is rapidly changing, so this role needs to continuously monitor for the changing market/regulatory forces and business requirements to ensure Qantas Loyalty maintains its core strategic advantage in this space versus sophisticated competitors.
Nearly all growth initiatives across the Loyalty business are heavily reliant on the use of Customer Data but if executed well, also have the potential to responsibly grow the data asset. Aside from its own remit of initiatives, this role plays a critical role as an interlock with other areas of the business (commercial teams, member experience & enablement teams) to ensure initiatives are both utilising data appropriately and contributing to the growth of the central data asset. This role is also a key facilitator and contributor to Loyalty’s Customer Data governance processes and forums.
Beyond business partnering on commercial initiatives and championing data governance, this role will also be a key contributor to the evolution of Qantas Loyalty’s data & analytics strategy. This includes identifying ways to expand the potential sources of data for the business and partnering with other enablement teams to discover and prioritise new capabilities.
You’ll have:
- 5-10 years’ experience in Strategic, Commercial, Data and Governance roles;
- Demonstrated experience either in a similar, large/listed, complex data-led organisation, data & analytics consulting or strategy consulting with a clear project focus on data topics;
- Experience developing data strategies that lead to growth in revenues (direct and indirect) and improved customer experience, with appropriate governance;
- Emerging expertise in best practice for data commercialisation, strategy and governance;
- Involvement in all stages of strategy development, with proven experience taking strategy from slides to initiatives;
- Understanding of data market landscape with ability to identify emerging market opportunities, including competitor monitoring;
- Ability to provide a broad range of data considerations in relation to external commercial partnerships (e.g. data sharing and data collaboration)
- Acts as a functional business partner, with strong stakeholder management skillset;
- Emerging people management and team development skills;
- Emerging influencing capabilities with experience presenting to senior executive levels
