We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Capital Delivery Leader to join The City & Regional Delivery team at Urban Utilities as a Delivery Manager. In this key role, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of infrastructure across our service territory.
You will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of a portfolio of infrastructure projects and the 5-year capital investment plan. You will take full accountability for your portfolio through the project life cycle from need identification through development, delivery and benefits realisation, working across a complex range of Resource Recovery, Wastewater, and Water assets.
As a Leader at Urban Utilities you will play an integral role in shaping and growing the team culture, relationships with key stakeholder groups, including those within Urban Utilities, regulatory bodies, landowners, governmental entities, and the local community. You will also lead a diverse, integrated and highly talented team made up of direct employees and integrated partners, fostering an inclusive work environment that delivers safe and efficient solutions.

Core Responsibilities:
- Provide Safety Leadership to ensure safety and safety performance improvement remains the key focus of the team
- Lead the detailed planning, development, and delivery of a complex capital portfolio
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the team to ensure portfolio outcomes are safely achieved
- Manage the 5-year capital investment portfolio for the region, prioritising investment to minimise service risk and maximise value for customers.
- Lead a multidisciplinary, integrated and highly skilled project team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic program plan and report on status to meet the requirements of key business, client, and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, design partners, delivery partners, customers, regulators and the local community.
- Drive a collaborative, integrated approach with our delivery partners, focussed on the best for business outcomes.
What you can bring to the role?
We’re looking for a passionate leader to join our team and take charge of complex capital programs. Here’s what will make you a great fit:
- Technical Expertise: A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is a must.
- Proven Track Record: You have significant experience leading large capital infrastructure programs in utilities, public works, energy, or heavy industrial sectors. Ideally, you’ve managed geographically diverse portfolios with multiple, concurrent projects.
- Leadership Prowess: You possess strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary, integrated teams. You'll foster an inclusive and high-performing culture to safely deliver exceptional results on our infrastructure portfolio.
- Collaboration is Key: You're a critical thinker who naturally builds strong relationships with stakeholders. You excel at collaboration, aligning objectives, and achieving desired outcomes.
- Results-Oriented: You have a demonstrated ability to deliver on your promises and achieve committed outcomes.
