About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Manager Finance. Reporting to the Associate Director - Finance Control, the Manager Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy. Your expertise will be essential in crafting and implementing financial policies, procedures, and systems that address organisation wide challenges while ensuring compliance with Infrastructure NSW's statutory and NSW Treasury reporting requirements.
Additionally, this role involves coordinating the preparation and submission of monthly financial data to Treasury, as well as preparing statutory financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and other statutory requirements.
Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:
- Supporting the Financial Controller to develop and maintain internal controls for financial systems ensuring the integrity of financial data for reporting purposes and initiate remedial action to meet audit recommendations.
- Preparing the Annual Financial Statements to ensure statutory requirements are achieved to the satisfaction of the Audit Office and management of Audit and Risk committee requirements.
- Providing expert advice on financial/ accounting policies, processes, practices, chart of accounts, fixed assets and financial compliance issues to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Performing key elements of management of financial control for INSW, including blackline (balance sheet) reconciliations, prime reconciliation and journals for non-cash transactions.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in Commerce, Business, or a related field, and/or extensive relevant experience. You should also possess a CA/CPA qualification or equivalent certification. Demonstrable experience in a similar financial accounting role is essential, as is experience in the practical application of accounting standards.
Additionally, effective communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders are required. Previous experience in construction, infrastructure and asset management would be highly advantageous. Familiarity with internal and external audit processes is preferred, along with highly developed Microsoft Excel skills.
