What you will doWorking within the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (the Program), Biosecurity Queensland, you will champion strategies that lead change and enhance eradication outcomes to support the achievement of Program goals. You will play an integral role in the organisational design of the program using evidence-based solutions through skilled data analysis, and by providing expert advice on a wide range of complex industrial and employee relation matters. Working closely with the Executive Program Director, Directors and leadership team, you will develop and embed strategies to ensure we grow a capable and sustainable workforce; one that is future ready, adaptive to changing environments, optimises opportunities and mitigates risk.
As our Manager, Human Resources you will:- Provide key leadership and strategy to support the Executive Program Director, Directors, and the leadership team to deliver contemporary human resource strategy and operations across a broad range of areas including, industrial and employee relations, organisational design, workforce planning and reporting, recruitment and selection, work health and safety and learning and development.- Analyse human resource risk and/or opportunity, interrogate data, and undertake research to generate options and solutions consistent with contemporary human resource best practice.- Advise on awards, industrial instruments, directives and entitlements in order to provide high level strategic and tactical direction to resolve complex workforce and employee matters with the Executive Program Director, Directors and leadership team members.- Ensure the efficient organisation and operation of the Human Resources, Work Health and Safety and Learning and Development teams in the delivery of service for the Program.- Actively build executive and leadership team member skills and capabilities through effective training, development and coaching activities and opportunities.- Strengthen relationships and create working partnerships and a high level of understanding of client needs to facilitate quality human resource management, work health and safety and learning and development practices that support the workforce.- Prepare high level reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence of a substantial and complex nature in relation to a range of Human Resources, work health and safety and learning and development issues.- Present and facilitate briefings and workshops for management and staff where required.- Contribute to the evaluation of Human Resources, work health and safety services and learning and development and initiatives to ensure these are prioritised and directed to support Program outcomes.- Build stakeholder relationships to ensure human resource, work health and safety and learning and development activities and outcomes are aligned to program and government priorities and initiatives.- Maintain good knowledge of contemporary human resource management, work health and safety and learning and development practices to ensure currency of knowledge and skills and service outcomes for clients.
What you will bringMandatory requirements- A current unrestricted 'C' class Drivers licence.
You may also have- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable experience would be desirable.- An understanding of biosecurity response activities and the Queensland Disaster Management. Arrangements and/or experience in applying your capabilities in a response environment will be highly regarded.
