You are currently an experienced HR manager or senior HR advisor with at least 5 years’ experience looking to manage the total HR function for a SME organisation, consisting of several entities. You will be the leading HR resource (with some assistance) for the business and part of the senior leadership team (SLT).
Reporting to the management team, you will be responsible for the delivery of HR expertise, operational and tactical HR advice, and support to the group. The role works closely with the leadership team to implement effective people management practices, provide positive and proactive advice regarding the resolution of workplace and employee disputes and grievances, and termination of employment.
The role is expected to support business performance improvement initiatives, including those that lead to increased employee engagement and help build organisational and people capability. The position will also review compliance matters and best practice human resources initiatives and recommend improvements to leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
Daily Operational HR
* Facilitate development and evaluation of position descriptions.
* Implement a consistent group recruitment process with targeted recruitment methodology and practices.
* Induct and monitor the integration and performance of new employees to support their development and contribution.
* Lead the relationship management with labour and recruitment agencies.
* Ensure compliance with all EBA/Awards.
* Compile HR metrics and provide weekly and monthly reporting.
* Ensure Workcover cases are managed, and the return-to-work process is supported when required.
* Managed and operate high quality documentation and record keeping.
HR Advice & Support
* Advise directors, managers, and staff in the resolution of human resources and industrial relations issues and enquiries.
* Provide advice and support on Company policies and procedures, relevant employment awards, legislation, and practices.
* Manage the resolution and finalisation of conflicts and grievances in accordance with policies and procedures.
* On a yearly basis conduct remuneration benchmarking for the organisation to assist with salary reviews.
* Explore and provide advice to the executive team regarding an EBA/ Awards for the group.
* Provide award interpretation advice and when needed seek advice from the group’s external IR legal advisors.
HR Strategy & Projects
* Source or develop and facilitate learning initiatives and solutions to meet targeted organisational needs.
* Implement a performance review process across the group.
* Implement the talent management and succession planning process.
* Contribute to and implement organisational change programs such as restructures and realignments.
* Analyse and evaluate human resource initiatives and procedures for service improvement.
* Contribute to the development of solutions to improve and enhance service delivery.
* Maintain knowledge of best practice human resource programs and initiatives to recommend improvements.
* Review and devise group policies and procedures.
* Manage Graduate Programme
Other Duties
* Attend and participate in cross functional team meeting.
* Undertake other duties as directed by management within your area of skill and expertise.
Ideally you will have the following experience, skills, and personal attributes to be successful in the role:
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business or Industrial Relations or equivalent work experience.
* A minimum of 5 to 7 years relevant HR experience preferably with a food processing, or food wholesaling company but being HR, candidates with other industry experience will definitely also be considered.
* Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of applications.
