There’s never been a better time to join the WALGA Marketing Team! With all our brand assets in place and launch planned imminently, we’re ready for an enthusiastic and experienced Marketing Manager who can help develop and deliver on the 2024 Marketing Business Plan.
About the role
The Manager Marketing reports directly to the Executive Manager Advocacy and works closely with our Manager Media and Communications. Having a team of highly engaged subject matter experts in your team to support you means that you will really be able to focus on driving the marketing strategy and key campaigns – although when the time comes, we all come together and collaborate for the big events.
As an important leadership role in the Advocacy team, you will provide expert advice and marketing leadership to the varied portfolios across WALGA and be a highly visible role within the business.
The Manager Marketing is collectively responsible for amplifying the voice and enhancing the profile and perception of WALGA and the Local Government sector, through contemporary marketing campaigns, initiatives, events, communications, and stakeholder relations (including member engagement and government relations).
Key responsibilities
• Drive the growth and expertise of the marketing capability of WALGA, working on everything from sector-wide campaigns to member service marketing.
• Develop and implement an integrated, whole-of-organisation marketing strategy to increase the profile and credibility of the sector profile and expand service delivery.
• Lead exciting digital transformation projects including Marketing Technology implementation, AI and CRM projects.
• Drive the delivery of a new Stakeholder Engagement Model.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven experience leading a Marketing team in a B2B or agency environment with experience across print, digital, social media and events.
• Extensive experience of developing marketing strategies, creative campaigns and showing return on investment thorough reporting.
• An insights and data-led approach.
• Ability to understand and apply commercial and member/customer insights into tangible marketing initiatives.
• Budget management experience.
• Experience in complex stakeholder management.
• Ability to act as a brand guardian and ensure consistency through an educational approach.
• Ability to work autonomously and build a collaborative team environment, with a strong initiative, attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
