This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024

The successful applicant will ideally work in a collaborative team environment committed to building quality communication with all stakeholders and developing strong community relationships and links.

As the Manager Corporate Services (MCS), you will work closely with the Principal to manage the day-to-day financial, physical, and human resources aspects of the school’s business operations. To be successful in this role, you will ensure that effective financial administration of the school’s business operations is delivered, including financial processing and reporting to ensure achievement of the school’s strategic and corporate financial objectives.

The MCS will ideally have well developed interpersonal communication skills to promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents and local community by maintaining a friendly, open and welcoming school office environment. The successful applicant should have strong Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills and have experience in asset management and a sound knowledge of Human Resource Management. Experience in the application of School Information System (SIS), ICT Dashboard and Asset and Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS) packages are highly desirable.

Experience in effectively leading collaborative teams is highly regarded for this role. The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to lead and manage their team independently to drive the prescribed improvement and reform initiatives of the school. It is anticipated that applicants would actively promote a strong collegial culture of mutual trust and high expectations and to lead the development of continuous professional growth that includes the systematic and unrelenting focus on school improvement.

The MCS, in collaboration with the other members of the Executive Team, will ideally provide strong leadership across the school community; promoting school values, ethos and priorities along with maintaining and growing the strong connections that the school has with the community.

Located in Southwest Byford, we are an Independent Public School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

At Woodland Grove Primary School, we work with your child on a holistic level, developing their academic and social skills, and nurturing their emotional wellbeing.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Leadership skills in the delivery of business outcomes and sound customer service principles and practices.
  • Well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use effective negotiation skills.
  • Sound financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
  • Sound human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
  • Ability to provide input into the development, implementation and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
  • Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
