Your new role
We have a unique opportunity for an individual to join our Investigations unit as Manager - Operational Intelligence on a full time, ongoing basis.
The Manager - Operational Intelligence is responsible for leading, conducting, and coordinating the development, planning and production of intelligence outputs and outcomes. Duties include:
- Coordinate and contribute to Intelligence business planning and policy development to support business outcomes including evolving organisational priorities.
- Mentor and provide day to day leadership and technical guidance to Intelligence Analysts within the Investigations Unit by providing timely and constructive feedback in support of the investigation process.
- Manage information collection and handling within guidelines and relevant legislation.
- Undertake research and complex analysis utilising a range of information systems, analytical software, and intelligence sources to support investigations and projects.
- Obtain and maintain authorised officer status as per IBAC Act.
?The operational requirements of Investigations work mean hours may be irregular and extended, including weekend work and afterhours deployments when required. There is also a requirement for irregular travel within regional Victoria and interstate, including overnight stays. Investigations Unit staff are also required to demonstrate the flexibility to respond to dynamic operational requirements within a reasonable timeframe.

We are looking for someone with the below capabilities and qualities:
- Possess contemporary knowledge related to the collection, collation, evaluation, analysis, and controlled dissemination of information in respect to complex investigations and operations.
- Significant experience working in law enforcement and/or relevant experience in an intelligence or law enforcement environment.
- Formal qualifications and/or training in Intelligence or a related field.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal skills in policy and report writing, analysis and briefing.
- Willingness to lead by example, instilling a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
