About the Role:
As our Manager Organisational Strategy, in a brand-new role to the Organisation, you'll lead an engaged and high performing team with responsibility for Transformation and Strategy, and Enterprise PMO. Following a recent restructure to improve the alignment of the organisation with its strategic goals, this role will play a pivotal part in designing and leading high impact Organisational Strategy reporting directly to the Director Customer and Corporate Affairs.
Aimed at enhancing our development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance within Glen Eira City Council, you'll be at the forefront for council's organisational strategic planning, project management, transformation, and innovation. The role has a future focus and continuous improvement mindset, and a focus on supporting the Executive and leadership team to tackle future challenges, finding innovative solutions to complex problems ensuring a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a senior leader in the organisation, provide trusted strategic advice to the elected Council and executive leadership team and contribute to the work of the Senior Leadership Group.
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategic planning frameworks aligned with the goals and priorities of our community.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for organisational improvement and drive change management initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, build consensus, and drive strategic initiatives forward.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Mentor and inspire your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
About You:
To support your success in this role:
- You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in a related or aligned discipline.
- Proven senior leadership experience in strategic planning, innovation, organisational development, or management consulting.
- You are a strong team player with high political acumen, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and sound judgement.
- You possess excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- You have strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
