We, embrace individuals with diverse skills, experiences, and backgrounds, recognising the unique value they bring to CFA.Want to read more about the Country Fire Authority (CFA) click .About the RoleA newly created Manager Policy and Doctrine position is currently available within the Governance, Legal and Risk department at CFA.Reporting to the Senior Manager Governance Services, this role offers an exciting leadership opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of a small team of Policy and Doctrine specialists.This highly collaborative role will require a skilled people manager to build team capability, develop existing processes, and establish strategic partnerships with a range of key stakeholders.Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of CFA's Policy and Doctrine Framework.
- Provide research on emerging trends related to Policy and Doctrine within the Victorian emergency services sector.
- Manage the process for establishing and refining policies and procedures that govern operations and practices of CFA both on and off the fireground.
- Tertiary qualifications in policy development or a related discipline with extensive experience in managing policy or doctrine frameworks –within a large, complex and diverse organisation.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contemporary policy or doctrine development and governance practices.
- Ability to research complex matters and to distil voluminous and complex information into clear and concise written documents.
- Significant experience within the emergency response or government sector with a sound understanding of the context in which CFA operates.
- Superior communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in developing, managing and influencing key stakeholders in a large and diverse organisation as well as preparing advice at senior executive levels.
- Ability to lead teams in a fast paced and complex environment, with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Successful experience in project management in high-pressure, complex environments, capable of planning and implementing multiple projects while prioritising tasks to meet objectives and deadlines within time and budget constraints.
