The Manager, Policy and Projects is a role within Communities and Justice and is accountable to the General Manager, Business Transformation and Quality, Youth Justice for:
- Providing leadership and expert consultation, advice and support to Communities and Justice in the areas of strategic policy, research, analysis, evaluation and funding priorities.
- Leading the development of best practice and data informed policies and procedures to address the needs of young people and support their desistance form offending.
- Applying high level problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills including the ability to think strategically, creatively and laterally, and respond to a constantly changing environment.
- Leading processes and contributing to the development and implementation of audit processes for POLICY AND document sets and associated impacts on young people.
National Police Check required. Employment-related Screening Check required. Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C). Role Status: Term up to 04/07/2025.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in sociology, criminology, justice, social sciences, human services, community services, social work, psychology (clinical or forensic) or health related fields is desirable.

Our Community and Aboriginal Partnerships Division helps to build community safety and wellbeing by providing support and services to children, young people and families, including those in the youth justice system, remote Aboriginal communities and people with complex and exceptional needs.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check, which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the South Australia Police or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
