Manager, Private Equity
The Opportunity
This Manager role in the Private Equity (PE) team offers a unique and exciting opportunity to actively contribute to the end-to-end implementation of the fund’s PE strategy and portfolios across Buyout, Growth Equity, Venture Capital and Co-Investments.

This role offers you exposure to leading GPs and their portfolios, and the opportunity to learn about a wide range of Private Equity strategies and investments on a global scale. You will gain a profound understanding of institutional Private Equity underwriting, portfolio management, and investment manager selection. This includes idea generation, researching and analysing markets, and investment manager, due diligence, appointment, and monitoring.
Over time, you will have a meaningful impact on the decision making, implementation and management of the PE portfolio, which is a key driver of alpha and provides the Future Fund with the lever to harness global innovation and technological progress. Driven by our investment team’s total portfolio approach, this role will also provide you with the opportunity to collaboration closely with all our asset class teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively support the PE investment and monitoring process, including researching manager strategies and thematics, contributing to portfolio ideas, meeting leading GPs.
- Contribute to the investment due diligence and monitoring process for PE investments, including manager research and the preparation and delivery of regular portfolio and performance analysis and reporting.
- Project manage simple transactions or projects, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness, with minimal guidance from more senior team members. Collaborate effectively and seek assistance when faced with more complex decisions.
- Inspire and guide others to achieve results, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Play a pivotal role in helping the PE team maintain and enhance its suite of portfolio data and analytic tools, including external platforms, spreadsheets and reports.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, building strong bonds with the investment team, and the teams that support and contribute to the success of the investment program.
About You
You are someone who demonstrates a passion for investing, with a keen interest in the drivers, opportunities, and risks associated with different investment opportunities across a wide variety of industries and geographies. Your ability to combine this enthusiasm with a broad knowledge of investment markets and the macro economy will significantly contribute to PE investment decisions.
Your analytical mindset is complemented with strong numerical skills, including an understanding of financial models. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy collaborating with other teams. Your curiosity fuels your active participation in thoughtful debates.
Experience with financial industry tools such as Preqin, Cambridge Associates, Pitchbook, FactSet etc is advantageous . While prior LP investment experience is beneficial although not a prerequisite for the role.
A tertiary education including a degree in Finance or a related discipline, is expected with a CFA or post graduate qualification being highly desirable.
