GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is an ASX listed engineering consulting and contracting organisation providing high quality process engineering design and construction services to the resources and mineral processing industry. The Opportunity
We are an immediate requirement for an experienced Manager - Projects ( based in Brisbane) , reporting to the Eastern Region Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing ,management and delivery of both EPC and EPCM projects ensuring that project key performance indicators are achieved
With a focus on safety outcomes, achieving project schedules, achieving project performance criteria, financial outcomes and quality objectives being a priority
Management of Project Managers and a multi-disciplinary project team comprising internal delivery disciplines and external sub consultants along with business development, preparing and managing the preparation of estimates for project tenders and proposals, review of estimates and proposals prior to submission, technical assessment of project layouts and engineering aspects of projects being managed, involvement in project risk reviews and HAZOPs, sourcing and employment of project personnel, site visits and contract negotiations.
Your typical day will consist of:
- Liaise with client representatives and attend client project meetings.
- Review and monitor the ongoing performance of multiple project teams.
- Establish project budgets.
- Monitor and continually review project cost.
- Oversee project planning, manpower planning and project schedule.
- Review internal and external reporting of project progress including project financial position and project schedule.
- Sign off on Project monthly financial and project reports prepared by the respective Project Managers.
- Ensure all Projects are managed in accordance with OHS and E requirements.
- Ensure conformance with all regulations, standards and codes.
- Review and support the project development phases for potential future projects.
- Lead and assist with tendering works.
- Manage projects as required.
- Quality management.
- Work closely with the Manager Eastern Region & Americas to execute the strategic business plan.
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualified professional engineer with experience in project management roles in the mineral resource sector.
- Previous design management experience particularly in the mineral resource or materials handling industries.
- Familiarity with scheduling and cost controls systems.
- Construction management and site based engineering experience.
- International project experience.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Understanding of safety systems and safe work practices.
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to lead multiple project teams.
- Knowledge of the JORC and NI-43-101 systems and the normally accepted estimating methodology and guidelines applied into minerals and mining projects.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point and Publisher).
- Customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights * you must reside in Australia to be considered
- Ability to provide a clean National Police clearance along with the ability to pass a Medical and DAS
