About the Position:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Workshop Manager to work with our local Client based in Adelaide, SA. The Manufacturing Manager at our Adelaide workshop plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production of automated packaging machines. As a key member of the management team, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating workshop activities, managing staff, and ensuring the successful execution of manufacturing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and lead workshop staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Supervise and workshop staff and apprentices, providing guidance and support to maximise individual and team performance.
Collaborate with Project, Design and Automation teams to optimise processes and establish production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost control measures.
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment to guarantee optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
Manage inventory levels and liaise with procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Provide regular reports to the Operations Manager on manufacturing performance, challenges, and improvements.
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align manufacturing goals with overall company objectives.
Conduct regular performance evaluations for workshop staff and identify opportunities for skill development and training.
Skills and Experience:
Mechanical trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field is advantageous.
Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in automated machinery production.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
