Market Development Manager | $180K + Super | Energy & Tech

With a stable track record of success across several energy verticals along with significant growth over the last few years, our client is now looking for an experienced Market Development Manager to establish and grow the company’s presence in a brand-new marketplace.

Essentially a tech and data insights company, the ideal candidate will have a background in this space, understanding the integral role data plays in determining key business decisions in 2024 and beyond. You will create a positive impact on Australian companies and consumers in this role.

Previous experience in sales/market strategy is essential, along with the ability to write tenders and negotiate outcomes with local Government.
  
The role:

• Develop strategies for lead generation, monitoring, and conversion
• Identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities
• Work closely with the Head of Commercial to ensure that bids are commercially viable, and establish appropriate systems for maintaining margin oversight at a portfolio level
• Proactively build positive relationships inside and outside the organisation to support the company strategy and vision
• Active involvement in present and future product development needs
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the business is fully compliant with regulatory requirements related to the marketing of products and services in Australia
• Develop strategic partnerships to create revenue generation opportunities for the company's products and services

You will have:

• Extensive business development and sales experience (B2B)
• A Bachelor’s Degree is highly desirable but not essential
• Experience overseeing large, complex bid work, working with commercial/finance to construct customer proposals, managing customer stakeholders & account planning
• Exposure to SaaS, Tech and Data OR Energy - essential
• Outgoing individual with high negotiating skills to be able to initiate and close business deals
• Strong leadership and managerial skills
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and execute on outcomes
