This is a nine (9) month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2024

Greenwood College are seeking to appoint an individual with excellent attention to detail to the role of Marketing and Communications Officer.

The successful applicant will provide operational support in developing, implementing and managing the Marketing Plan and liaise with key stakeholders in organising promotional events and marketing. To be successful, you should maintain current knowledge of trends related to web design and technologies and other online mediums and develop a range of communications, publications and materials to support marketing activities and events.

As the Marketing and Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and management of our Marketing Plan. Responsibilities include providing operational support to ensure the effective execution of the Marketing Plan, collaborating with key stakeholders to organise and coordinate promotional events and marketing activities, staying updated on trends in web design, social media Marketing and other online mediums to enhance our digital presence, and developing a variety of communications, publications, and materials to support marketing initiatives and events.

The successful applicant should display excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks, possess strong organizational and project management skills as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and employ creativity in developing engaging marketing materials and content.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Considerable experience in assisting with coordination of events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.
  • Sound initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Sound conceptual, analytical and research skills, including the ability to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Sound computer application skills.

Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
