Job description

  • Champion ACF as Australia’s premier national environment organisation.
  • Full-time permanent position (part time negotiable) with flexibility to work from the office and from home.
  • Salary of $130,000 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and amazing working conditions
  • Located in Melbourne (Wurundjeri Country), Brisbane (Turrbal and Yuggera Country), Canberra (Ngunawal Country), or Sydney (Gadigal Country) – your choice!

Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for almost 60 years.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for an end to destructive land clearing, for protecting our beloved endangered critters, or pushing for stronger climate action, our dedicated community of more than half a million people are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

The Marketing Manager is the custodian of ACF’s brand and our big, bold marketing strategies!

No two days will look the same in this exciting role. One day you might be responsible for dreaming up out of home advertising for a campaign targeting the fossil fuel giants, the next you’ll be rolling out a digital campaign that shines a light on Australia’s extinction crisis.

You might spend your day ensuring ACF’s brand is front and centre at a major national event or roll out A/B testing messaging on nature and renewables with different audiences, run a brand survey, or work with a celebrity to get the nature message out. There’s a lot of fun to be had with paid advertising, digital marketing and PR.

This is a varied, highly collaborative, and strategic role, with the chance to bring your big, creative ideas to life and make a massive impact on changing the story on nature and climate in Australia.

This role leads a team of talented creatives and digital gurus who are responsible for marketing, brand website content, as well as clever partnerships (like the Triple J’s Hottest 100!) to achieve ACF’s campaign, fundraising, narrative, brand and organising objectives.

Hear more about us, the role and who we are looking to join us in this short video from our Director of Engagement, Jane Gardner.

About you!

  • You have proven experience leading high-ambition and high-impact marketing strategies (online and out of home).
  • You’re a skilled storyteller at heart, who understands the magic of simple, effective messaging delivered via the right messenger (if you’ve had experience with influencers, that’s a bonus).
  • You have played a leading role in a website redevelopment project.
  • You are digitally skilled and curious about harnessing AI and cutting-edge digital technology to super-charge marketing activities.
  • You’re plugged into the latest trends in marketing and not afraid to break the mould/think big to deliver smart marketing campaigns that meet big audiences where they are at.
  • A brand champion, you understand that brand is not simply a logo but is the whole identify, look, feel and experience of your organisation (and help others to understand this, too).
  • You are highly collaborative, sharing your knowledge freely and you love supporting others to succeed.
  • As a manager, you’ve got experience coaching and developing staff to do their best work and have fun along the way.

Why work for us?

You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.

ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:

  • Genuine flexibility in working hours and location with an optional fortnightly ADO
  • Four weeks of annual leave a year plus an additional three days off over the Christmas / New Year period, and the option to purchase additional annual leave
  • Thirty days of personal leave a year (pro-rata) available to use immediately upon commencement
  • Superannuation contribution of 11.5%
  • Access to Long Service Leave after five years of continuous service
  • Eighteen weeks paid parental leave for parents (regardless of who is the birth parent) after 12 months of service
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities tailored to your individual career goals
  • Regular team and whole organisation retreats so we can plan, learn and grow together
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support

People are at the heart of everything we do to protect our planet. To achieve the bold change we seek, we must represent the richness of diversity within our communities so that all of us who care about nature can step up and lead.

ACF is committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants. We actively encourage First Nations people, people from CALD backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people, people with disability and others who have diverse experiences of our world to apply for this opportunity.
