Luerssen Australia was established in 2018 to commence construction of 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy over a 12 year period. We work closely with our customer and stakeholders to deliver excellence in service.
The Role
This is a high-profile, cross functional position that plays an integral role in enabling production flow and directly supporting Luerssen Australia in the delivery of 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) and is responsible for ensuring all purchased and fabricated materials are on site on time for construction.
Based in Henderson the Materials Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning and management of the on time delivery of C4I equipment via Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and from our major suppliers for the ten OPVs being constructed and delivered in WA.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo the Australian Defence Force Security Clearance process, of which a minimum requirement is Australian Citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Working in collaboration with Procurement department, co-ordinate the receipting, handling, storage, and issue of C4I GFE (Materials), Sub-contractor C4I equipment as required by applicable contract and service agreements.
- Support the on time delivery of C4I GFE (materials) equipment, supplies into the Henderson shipyard to align with production and schedules.
- Provide support as required to key stakeholders to deliver against the agreed schedules.
- Provide support for Materials Master Data accuracy, on time delivery and performance metrics.
- Working in collaboration with Luerssen Warehouse team, conduct and report on internal and external driven equipment musters, and spot-check as required within applicable contract and service agreements.
- Effectively engage key partners and other functional areas as needed.
- Conduct the detailed reporting and analysis for Project Management Office, including material delivery progress and material shortages as appropriate.
- Support impact analysis of Engineering Change with the identification of long lead items and complex material supplies.
- Support the BOM analysis from the L-AUS ERP system, with detailed analysis and association to the appropriate work package.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the PMO GFE and C4I Lead.
- Support the detailed work order development (Production Engineering) with identification of BOM sequencing and availability.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within Defence, Oil & Gas, Mining, or Aviation industry.
- Problem solver with high sense of responsibility to achieve results.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain.
- Conversant with scheduling and planning principles. (desired)
- Advanced MS Excel skills and conversant with other Microsoft Office Applications and ERP / PLM systems. (desired)
