About the role:
WorkPac are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Paraburdoo. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll uphold core values while employing your expertise in project management, communication, and problem-solving to drive projects to success. With a Mechanical Engineering degree and proficiency in key tools like SAP and the Microsoft suite, you'll navigate complex challenges and foster positive relationships to deliver impactful results.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Uphold Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Values- Care, Courage, Curiosity
Have a strong knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation)
Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and execution plans
Monitor project progress against budget and forecasted schedule
Draft blue sheets and capital expenditure applications (CEAs)
Maintain positive, effective, and on-going communications between key stakeholders and contract partners
Foster strong relationships with all partners in the project stages
Undertake quality Leadership in Field activities to review current activities, practices and processes, and identifying any gaps for improvement
Skills and Experience:
Mechanical Engineering degree
Effective time management skills
Good understanding of Project Management Principals
Strong people skills, with the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary and diverse team
Effective communicator and influencer
Be able to interpret and implement systems, processes and procedures
Be able to work effectively in changing environments
Problem solve complex situations
Conflict resolution
Establish and maintain positive relationships
Fixed Plant knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Project)
Have a good understanding in the use of SAP
Capable of writing conclusive reports and articulating project benefits and challenges
Heavy industry (Non-essential)
