About the Role
Based at our 88MW Kareeya Hydro Power Station in Tully, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering solutions, strategies and systems that will maintain compliance and improve operating performance, to ensure reliable and safe operations of CleanCo’s FNQ power generation assets, infrastructure and associated critical assets.
Whilst based primarily at Kareeya, you will work collaboratively with a small team of multi-discipline engineers to also support our Barron Gorge hydro plant in Cairns. You will provide high-level Mechanical Engineering support and guidance to ensure both plants are operated within design ratings and maintained in accordance with relevant standards and codes while continuously improving their respective technical, environmental, safety and commercial performance.
This is a permanent, site-based Monday-Friday opportunity and will require you to reside within an hour’s drive of Tully. Local candidates are encouraged to apply however relocation assistance will be provided for the successful candidate if required.
About you
Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (postgraduate and/or further certification is desirable).
RPEQ status or the intent to gain accreditation within a reasonable timeframe.
Hands-on engineering experience within a fixed plant environment, ideally from the power generation sector or related industries (desired not essential).
Comfortable grasp of relevant industry engineering regulations and legislation.
Capability to manage Mechanical Engineering activities across multiple sites simultaneously.
A professional, positive communication style with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and with key external stakeholders including suppliers.
