About the role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations & Maintenance Technician will facilitate the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the Wagerup Power Station. Working in accordance with the annual work plan, in order to maximize its reliability and availability for commercial operation to supply electricity.
In this role, you’ll be:
- Take proactive steps to help eliminate recordable injuries as an integral part of our pursuit of a workplace where Zero harm is achieved.
- Assist the team in cultivating and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation aimed at achieving efficiency enhancements.
- Operate and maintain equipment in alignment with the Annual Work Plan to uphold the generating plant's capacity, availability, and reliability.
- Promptly report and investigate incidents involving plant and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and devise action plans with precise scoping and specification work.
- Leading projects to enhance the reliability and lifespan of power station equipment by overseeing upgrades and improvements as the project manager.
Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:
- A Mechanical Certificate III or its equivalent
- CPCPGS4003A Install, commission and service Type B gas appliances or ability to obtain.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings and procedures.
- Power Generation experience particularly with Gas turbine and industrial rotating equipment.
- Contractor Management and Supervision experience is desirable.
A crucial aspect of this position is having strong problem-solving skills to enable resolutions to operational or maintenance issues.
