BAEG is an official distributor of Epiroc hydraulic hammers and demolition attachments, MTB Hydraulic hammers, Erkat Drum Cutters and GTS Rock Saws in Queensland, Victoria, Northern Territory and Western Australia. BAEG are the exclusive service and spare-parts agent for Transmin's range of Boomer HD rockbreaking boom systems in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading and supervising a team during shutdowns or large projects. Proven track record in completing projects on time and within budget. Providing mechanical and hydraulic expertise to support the team both in the workshop and onsite.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Supervise teams in shutdowns or during project installations and commissioning’s.
- Assist with planning and the scoping of upcoming site service works.
- Assist in the development of service personnel and implementation of training requirements.
- Pre-deliver new equipment. Strip assess and report on equipment repairs in accordance with manufacturer's manuals and drawings, conduct work in a timely manner to support the sales and service activities of the branch.
- Carry out hydraulic installation of attachments on mobile and fixed plant equipment and accurately carry out flow and pressure checks using a flow meter during installation to ensure that the attachment always works as designed.
- Read, understand and work accurately from General Assembly and Specific Engineered Drawings (Mechanical and Hydraulic).
- Assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting and assessment/diagnosis of equipment provided to BA Equipment Group for service and repair.
- At short notice, be willing to travel and work onsite for short periods of time as required for equipment installation and servicing.
About You
To excel in this role, the successful candidate will have/demonstrate:
- Minimum of 4 Years experience as a Mechanical Supervisor
- Supervisory experience in a leadership role within a shutdown or workshop environment
- Relevant mechanical engineering trade certificate
- Experience in Hydraulics (Cert IV Fluid Power – Desirable)
- Current Inductions to Major Mining companies
- Excellent communications skills to liaise with clients and suppliers
- Motivated work ethic and drive to succeed
- Advanced computer literacy
- National Police Clearance
- Driver’s License- Minimum C or equivalent class, MR or HR (Desirable)
- HRW Licences – FL, DG, RB, WP, EWP
- Excellent record on OH&S including a safety conscious attitude
- Physically fit to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and DAS
