THE ROLE
The Media Officer will support the team to plan and deliver professional, high quality media strategies and projects in line with the department's strategic priorities.
The role is responsible for developing and implementing proactive media strategies to promote the positive outcomes achieved by the department's programs and policies, working with key stakeholders within and external to the department, and acting as a communications champion to ensure high standards are applied in all communication across the organisation.
They will collaborate with teams across the branch to create compelling media, communications and event products for a range of purposes and audiences, including media plans, media releases and proactive story ideas.
The Media Office is required to work closely and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of all information.
As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios or teams ensure effective events services can be delivered by the Branch during peak periods.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
* Contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of media strategies, materials and activities, including production of print, online and multimedia materials.
* Provide media advice and work collaboratively across the department to ensure the delivery of effective media strategies and materials that are of a high written and visual standard and which complies with departmental and whole-of-Victorian Government guidelines.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work collaboratively to increase the effectiveness of the department's communications.
