Responsibilities:
- Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in and out
- Greeting patients, verifying insurance, and updating patient information
- Organising and maintaining patient files, records, and medical reports
- Preparing medical reports, correspondence, and other documents as requested by medical professionals
- Handling billing and insurance claims, including following up on unpaid claims and coordinating with insurance companies
- Ordering and stocking medical supplies and maintaining inventory
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations
- Providing general administrative support to the medical staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in an administrative support role in a medical or healthcare environment
- Understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with patients, doctors, and other medical professionals
- Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Computer proficiency with experience using medical software and databases
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
