The Role:
An opportunity exists for a motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist Grade 2 - Cytopathology to join the team at Northern Health on a part-time or full-time basis.
This position is a fixed term maternity leave cover until mid-July 2024.
This role would suit a passionate Laboratory Scientist with experience in cytopathology that would enjoy working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work situated within the Anatomical Pathology department. The key responsibilities would be (but not limited to); routine specimen preparation and staining, attending ROSE, performing primary screening of cytological slide preparations, partaking in QC and QAP and staff training in cytology preparation.
To be successful in this role you will have:• A degree in Medical Laboratory science or equivalent.
• Specific post-graduate qualifications in cytopathology such as CTASC and/or CTIAC
• Demonstrated experience in non-gynaelogical cytology preparation and primary screening
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a time to communicate cooperatively with other internal and external clients.
- Has the flexibility to work in an evolving work environment and works well under pressure.
